Postural Re-Education

A good posture can greatly improve and prevent back problems and other ailments. Trinity House Practice can offer two techniques that will contribute towards better posture:

The Alexander Technique

One of the primary aims of the Alexander Technique is to make good posture easy to attain. It is a practical method for improving the way we carry ourselves in everyday life through learning how to change habits that can potentially harm alignment.

This is a self-help way for us to take a fresh look at how we move and balance. We can learn how to avoid strain and fatigue, bring about lighter movement and a sense of poise into all day-to-day activities.

The Alexander Technique can help you to:

Reduce or prevent bodily aches and pains

Improve posture

Manage stress

Breath more naturally and deeply

Improve performance of all kinds

Experience a new freedom and ease of being

Pilates

Pilates helps to re-align and correct poor body posture.

The aim is to teach people how to use their muscles more efficiently using a series of stretching and strength-building exercises appropriately adapted to working with the needs of the individual.

Emphasis is placed on strengthening core muscles and on breathing patterns. This allows for postural patterns to be released and restores muscle strength and flexibility with correct alignment.

Also a qualified physiotherapist, our body control pilates practitioner finds pilates based treatments useful for many conditions. It is excellent for people suffering with chronic health problems, such as long standing low back pain and can be helpful as part of post injury treatment.

Both Pilates and The Alexander Technique are available as one to one or group sessions.
