Hello I am Sandra Marston, I am a qualified counsellor, CBT therapist, life coach and NLP Practitioner.
Counselling is often called the "talking therapy", or simply a conversation that attempts to help us make sense of our lives, what is causing distress or pain. I am wondering if you would like to have that conversation. Counselling offers you a place to explore difficulties in your life with someone who is trained to neither judge nor advise you, but may help you unlock your feelings and come to understand more about yourself. No problem is too small or trivial to bring to counselling. If it is troubling you then it is important.
How I work
My aim is to understand you, to listen to you without judgement, and to work with you to help you find a way forward with whatever problem or situation is causing you concern. Working together may help you find a way through, and can help you to find new perspective and explore new ways of feeling and thinking. I use an eclectic and varied approach to counselling. During our first sessions we will explore what has brought you to counselling right now, and look and what sort of approach may help you.
We will work at a pace which is comfortable for you. We will open the door on those dark places but if you don't want to go in right now, that's okay. We can always take a look another time.
