Ergonomics

Ergonomics Macclesfield

We now provide specialist workplace assessments.  Our highly eperienced ACPOHE qualified ergonomists can provide an ergonomic assessment of an employee's individual workstation or an ergonomic review of a company's working practices on a larger scale.  Following this we can recommend the necessary practical adjustments to minimise the risk of injury and promote safer working practices to reduce the likelihood of expensive compensation claims.  Our recommendations are always cost conscious for employers.

 What is Ergonomics?

Ergonomics is matching the job to the worker and the product to the user.  An effective ergonomic match optimises:

  • Working efficiency
  • Health and safety
  • Comfort and ease of use.

The aim of good ergonomics is to maximise the ability to maintain your best posture and minimise the forces put through your muscles and joints whilst performing a task.  Good ergonomics is not just about standing up straight or sitting in the right position.  Other considerations are:

  • Repetition
  • Moving of a load
  • Work flow
  • Interactions between people
  • Skill mix in the working group
  • Culture within the work environment

The Need for an Ergonomic Assessment

Current legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Equalities Act state that the employer has a responsibility to make the workplace safe for their employees.  Apart from a legal duty, working practices that risk causing injury or prevent recovery in an injured worker affect productivity of an overall workforce.  Figures from the Health and Safety Executive show employers are not doing enough to protect their workforce.

Our speciliast ergonomic consultants can review working practices and the working environment.  Through our bespoke and specially designed ergonomic assessments, we are able to recommend the necessary adjustments to prevent the likelihood of injury, support the workforce and promote safer working practices.

We aim to be able to provide an assessment within 5 working days of receiving a referral.

As we are a Cheshire based company, we are able to deliver our ergonomic services in the North West region.  If you are interested in the proven changes that our Trinity House Practice ergonomic consultants can provide for your business to reduce costs, sickness absence and improve your workforce's productivity, please contact us at the practice by calling 01625 500 777 alternatively, you can get in touch via This email address is being protected from spambots.
